This is why it’s hard to take the Oscars seriously. She was probably great as Tammy Faye (I haven’t seen it despite my wife’s prodding), but there’s no way, none, that she equaled her performance in “The Tree of Life.” Did she even get nominated for that role? Acting as it best is the truth. TOL is the only film of Jessica’s that she can’t watch because it is THE TRUTH. Now, she probably expressed some of the truth of Tammy Faye in her performance and deserves praise for that, but was it pure truth like in TOL? French actresses are the best in the world and a César is the highest honor an actress can receive because French actresses always show us the truth on screen.
