Quick question about posting

How are people still posting thumbnails only? I have the option to 'Insert image', but I used to have an option to add attachments or something, which would let me to just do thumbnails. Now though using insert image I have to do everything one at a time, and it's always full picture, as opposed to the multiple photo thumbnails which saved a lost of time posting, and loading while browsing if you had low signal.
