Unfortunately she was let down by it being the late 60's and rather than looking her natural best, she wore ridiculous 60's wigs and hairstyles.
i believe her hair was damaged by attempts to make her a blonde, hence the wigs. btw, she's actually younger than her successor joanna lumley!
