Meet Sonia Rolland, born on February 11, 1981, a French actress and the Miss France of 2000. She also rocked the stage at the Miss Universe competition. As the first African-born Miss France winner, Sonia’s background is a mix of Rwandan and French heritage.

Her family left Rwanda due to safety concerns during the Rwandan Genocide, eventually settling in Burgundy, France. In 1999, she won the “Miss Burgundy” beauty contest, paving her way to the Miss France title. She made history as the first woman of African descent to claim the crown. Sonia also made waves at the Miss Universe 2000 pageant, reaching the top 10.
