Check it – Eva Mattes (born Dec 14, 1954, Tegernsee, Germany), an Austro-German actress who’s been killin’ it on screen. She starred in four flicks by director Rainer Werner Fassbinder (The Bitter Tears of Petra von Kant, Jail Bait, Effi Briest, and In a Year of 13 Moons). In A Man Called Eva (1984), she went full beast mode playin’ a bearded film director based on the late Fassbinder himself.

She also popped off in two Werner Herzog joints, her former boo. They had a daughter, Hanna Mattes, in 1980. Eva showed up in Germany, Pale Mother and played Sasha Fillipov’s mom in Enemy at the Gates. In German-speaking spots, she’s iconic as Klara Blum in the Tatort TV series.
