Have you heard of the stunning Mikaela Pauline Shiffrin? She’s a badass American alpine skier who’s won two Olympic gold medals and is the reigning Overall World Cup champ TWO years in a row. At just 18 years and 345 days old, she became the youngest slalom champ in Olympic alpine skiing history. And get this, she’s tied with Ted Ligety and Andrea Mead Lawrence for the most Olympic gold medals ever won by an American Olympian in alpine skiing after winning her second one in the 2018 giant slalom.
Only 5 Americans have ever won the World Cup overall title, and she’s one of them. Plus, she’s the first and ONLY athlete to win in all six FIS Alpine Ski World Cup disciplines – slalom, parallel slalom, giant slalom, super-G, downhill, and alpine combined.
This girl is on fire! She’s won a whopping 52 World Cup races, making her the 4th highest female alpine skier of all time. And out of those, a whopping 37 are slalom races, the most all-time by a female alpine skier. At just 23 years and 9 months old, she became the youngest skier – male or female – to win 50 World Cup races. She’s a total legend!
