Magdalena Brzeska, born May 14, 1978 in Gdynia, Poland, is a former German rhythmic gymnast and one of the country’s most successful and recognizable athletes in the sport.

She moved to Germany as a child, started gymnastics at age six, and quickly became a dominant force: 14-time German national champion, multiple European Championship medalist, and a three-time Olympian (1996 Atlanta, 2000 Sydney, 2004 Athens). Her best Olympic finish was 8th in the all-around in Sydney 2000.

Known for her elegance, flexibility, and powerhouse routines with ribbon and hoop, she was a fixture on the World Cup circuit throughout the late 90s and early 2000s. After retiring in 2005, she stayed in the public eye as a TV personality, fitness ambassador, author, and occasional actress, and remains one of Germany’s most beloved former gymnasts.
