The Show Runner is responsible for the quality of DW, and both Moffet and Chris C. are shit writers compared to Russel T Davies. I love Jodie as the Doctor, and I’m a hard core Doctor fan, Doctor 10 my absolute top favorite. But I will totally agree that show runner Chris C, seriously needs to reevaluate his writing style and choices. It’s bad form in eco-do writing to just straight up put I. Dialogue and direct representations of whatever social issue you want to address. The beauty of a Sci-GI is that can be done with subtly and tack. In its best form the show/film is total enjoyable on its own and upon deeper evaluation of symbolism and subtext a pint is made about a larger and current issue.
Basically don’t hate on actors for shitty writing, the actors themselves are rarely the problem when it comes to the content of a show/film.
