Look, I would fuck this girl. She IS cute, but she’s ain’t gorgeous. Ariel is a cute BEAUTY. She has a perfect cherubic face and gorgeous eyes. She’s arguably the most beautiful of Disney princesses, and was the most beautiful Disney girl since Alice in “Alice and Wonderland.” This shit matters not because of color or “accuracy” to the original film (which itself completely ignores the mermaid appearance as described by Hans Christian Andersen), but because of the detriment cultural effect on beauty standards among young audiences. There’s a BIG difference between girls viewing animated Ariel as an ideal and viewing Bailey as an ideal. It is a significant step down, and if this film is a hit it will be felt for decades to come. This is happening in an era in which LANA DEL REY, under 40 and still in the public eye, has surrendered to weight gain.
These are dangerous times we’re living in. That is why I uphold the Kardashians-Jenners as having a largely positive impact. The explicit attention they pay to their appearance is a major socio-cultural GOOD in light of their level of celebrity. BEAUTY FUCKING MATTERS DAMMIT!
