So why are there dogs in crates? Is this how they are sold in ‘MURICA or something? :s
They probably came from either private dog breeders or a puppy mill. Here in ‘Murica, people usually would buy from private breeders or adopt from an animal shelter, but in some cases (unfortunately) people buy from a pet store, which most privately owned pet stores would get their animals from puppy mills. And if you don’t know what a puppy mill is, then Google should provide some info. It’s sad, it really is.
They’re most likely from the SPCA. They bring them in crates and set up in front of pet supply stores in the hopes that someone will adopt a stray. They do this in front of the petco where I live fairly regularly and it gives these dogs a chance to be seen and maybe find a home when they would otherwise be euthanized.
The Dogs were there for a photoshoot near the beach.They had owners.
