Ashlyn Gere, born Kimberly Ashlyn McKarny on September 14, 1959, in Cherry Point, North Carolina, grew up in a military family, moving frequently before settling in Las Vegas, Nevada. She debuted in adult films in 1990 at age 27, initially under the name Kim McKamy, before adopting Ashlyn Gere.
